Meet and learn from NCC representatives and others guiding this tour from Heritage Ottawa who are part of the proposal for its new sustainable upgrade.
a.. Grandfather Elder William Commanda worked tirelessly for over fifty years to see his vision for an Aboriginal Peace Centre to be build on this original sacred Algonquin land of his people. b.. When a former Prime Minister was in office the representatives of the NCC at that time promised that Grandfather`s dream would be implemented. c.. Then came an election and a change of government. d.. The late Leader of the Opposition Jack Layton and MP Paul Dewar have supported the honouring of this promise to Grandfather and the Algonquin Nation in a private members bill asking that such a Centre be supported by the Canadian government. e.. Tomorrow come and support the legacy of Grandfathers dedication to this ancient Aboriginal Land and make your voice heard.. that it be preserved and brought back to life as a way of welcoming people from all over the world to listen to the voices of the Indigenous Elders sharing how we too can become stronger stewards of our Earth and our waters. And urge our government to support its promises in the final recent signing of Canada to the United Nations Declaration of Indigenous Rights.
We do not inherit the land from our ancestors we borrow it from our children. Please invite everyone you know to come.. it is imperative for us to speak to what we most value.. our grandchildren`s grandchildren depend on it. The Metis Nation are offering a complimtary pot luck from 3 pm to 6 pm that could be followed after the tour.. and believe!.. your presence and interest will make a difference!

@CatThunder: Music does not know any boundaries - be it rap, reggae, soul, country - all are forms of poetry - you are stereotyping a genre of music based on media portrayal. This is what is done to the Aboriginal people - stereotyping - don't fuel the hate.
