One Of 12 Community Access Radio Stations in New Zealand

The me says it all, really. It's about ACCESS. Eleven Access Stations around the country provide facilities and support for minority and specialist interest groups ... See more and individuals, to gain access to the airwaves. Section 36(c) of The Broadcasting Act requires us to offer our services to a specified range of minorities - › Women › Children and Young Persons. › People with disabilities › Ethnic minorities › People with religious and spiritual beliefs Crucially, programmes are created by, for and about these communities. Minority groups whose cultures, concerns and/or musical tastes are not catered for in the mainstream media can hear familiar voices presenting material produced specifically for them, on their local access radio station. At Arrow FM, we train all our presenters to operate the studio equipment, we do not impose editorial input (except to provide advice on matters of broadcasting codes of practice and legal responsibilities), and we encourage broadcasters to maintain a tolerant attitude toward the beliefs and perspectives expressed by our diverse family of programme makers.
