We don’t make money from this station! AscenDance Radio is all about the fans, the music, and artist exposure, not the money. There may be a day when we will need to accept donations to help pay the bills but for now it’s not needed. Directive Here are some standards we will always try to hold ourselves to. If we seem to be slipping by all means, call us out by contacting us. No Song will be played from an Artist who isn’t a true Dance Artist unless there is a Dance Remix. Yes Madonna, Rhianna and many other Mainstream Artists do make great music but unless it’s a Dance Remix you’re not hearing it here. There will be no Artist favoritism. Famous Artists as well as Up & Coming Artists will get an equal amount of air time, taking into consideration some artists (Mainly big names) usually have far more tracks than Up & Coming Artists. This is done for the benefit and advancement of the genre as a whole and not for ANY individual Artist no matter how good they are. There are many Talented Artists in this genre and the Radio Station should portray this. To encourage the purchase of CD’s, MP3′s, etc. instead of illegal downloads. This is done so that the Artists of our genre don’t go the way of the Dinosaur. Since the Dance Music genre is smaller, our Artists suffer more from illegal downloading than a Pink or Usher would. We may use some sort of tracking code to determine how many sales we can generate; this isn’t for profit purposes. We don’t make money from this and any information collected can be used as leverage with Artists to get special benefits such as early releases, etc. A balanced repetition. You don’t hear the same song every hour, brand new or not, but at the same time you don’t have to wait days to hear it again. If anything, you can use our request feature to influence our play list! Having any on air talk be useful. No American Idol or celebrity gossip, only Dance News, Dance Events (and not just Dance Events that is self promoted) or anything else actually related to Dance. A steady, constant and heavily searched and researched flow of new songs that are added in a timely manner. The content will always be fresh with an influx of new songs that didn’t just come from one Artist but instead many in the genre. We care about what you have to say. This may be a hard concept to grasp for Terrestrial / Satellite Radio but we here at AscenDance Radio actually care and want your feedback! Now let’s keep in mind that everyone has an opinion of what music to play and not, but not everyone can be trusted with that opinion. Once we are given your feedback we try to take all of your input, whether it be song suggestions to even general format and programming. From there we compare it to the vision we have for this station and then see how it can be applied and this is what we can’t emphasize enough! Your voice will be heard and your opinion matters!
