Ganesh Kumar Bangah, Group Chief Executive Officer
Ganesh is the Group Chief Executive Officer of MOL Global Pte. Ltd. In this capacity, he leads and is the Chief Executive Officer of the two wholly owned subsidiaries of MOL Global, namely; Friendster Inc., the world’s pioneer social network and MOL AccessPortal Berhad, a global online payment service provider.
He possesses a Certificate in Computer Studies issued by the National Center for Information Technology, United Kingdom in collaboration with CAL Computer Training Center, Malaysia. He was a Microsoft Certified Professional in 1998 and has more than 13 years of experience in portal development and e-commerce operations. In the earlier part of his career, he was the Technical Director of Cyberfield Sdn. Bhd. where he was involved in various software development, project management, Internet infrastructure and Internet commercialization efforts.
He has been certified by the Malaysia Book of Records as the youngest Chief Executive Officer of a public listed company in Malaysia. He was a top nominee for the Ernst & Young Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year – Malaysia 2004 & 2007 awards, Winner of the JCI 2009 Creative Young Entrepreneur Award – Malaysia, recipient of the PIKOM Technopreneur Excellence Award 2009, recipient of the Malaysian Young Indian Entrepreneur Award 2009 and is acknowledged by Society Magazine as one of the 100 people you must know in Asia.
He has been recognized as a Key Industry Leader by the National ICT Association of Malaysia (PIKOM); is a PIKOM Councillor and is the Chairman of the PIKOM Export Promotion Committee and PIKOM Southern Chapter. He is also an active industry player in the promotion of information and communication technology activities in Southern Malaysia where he is the lead promoter of MSC Cyberport Sdn. Bhd., a public private partnership spearheaded by the State Government of Johor to expand the Malaysian ICT Flagship Initiative, MSC Malaysia to the Malaysian Southern Regional Economic Corridor, Iskandar Malaysia.
Ben Dunn, Chief Marketing Officer
Ben is the Chief Marketing Officer for both Friendster and MOL Global Pte. Ltd. Ben left St.Andrews University in 1994 with a Business degree and joined HSBC's International Manager program. He worked in Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Philippines, Mexico, UK and the US across a range of functions from Internet Banking to Corporate Banking and specializing in Marketing, eventually leaving the Group after working at first direct (HSBC's direct bank in the UK) as Marketing Director. From there Ben joined Added Value, WPP's branding agency, where he worked primarily on the global Vodafone account but also in the financial and energy sectors.
Aaron Barnes, Vice President of Global Sales & Business Development
Aaron manages all sales, business development, and advertising operations for the company. He brings over 18 years of experience in sales, marketing and operations with an impressive track record in online advertising sales, business development and subscriptions. Aaron has held senior sales, marketing and business development roles at Sequoia Capital backed Quote.com (Lycos Finance), Trident Capital backed WhenU, Inc., and publicly traded Looksmart (NASDAQ: LOOK). Aaron's global sales strategies and tactics implemented have resulted in Friendster scaling revenue to historic company highs in 2006 and 2007 while in parallel significantly improving the synergistic efficiencies of strategic business alliances.
Aaron holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from University of Pennsylvania and studied Entrepreneurial Management at The Wharton School of Business.
Francis Wong, Vice President of Finance
Francis is the Vice President of Finance for Friendster. He brings over 15 years of operational experience in traditional media, software, software-as-a-service and social media, ranging from startups to established companies, including over four years with Friendster where he oversaw its global business operations and rapid growth in Southeast Asia. He left Friendster in early 2009 to pursue opportunities with other startups, including his own, and recently return to Friendster to head up Finance.
An entrepreneur by nature, Francis holds an Economics degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.
