The first skapi radio station was built in 1980 when the skapis lived in Schefferville Matimekosh. It plays tive, Country, Rock and Popular music. It is an important avenue for community and public service announcements, bingo and local communication. Since 2003 the station has been broadcasting “Lamp to my Feet” skapi Radio Bible Time, a 30-minute program of readings from the New skapi language Bible Translation produced by the Development Corporation. Due to an enthusiastic response, this programming has been expanded to three times a day. The Corporation is also producing skapi language broadcasts of the traditiol legends and stories.
