See more Chorley FM is a not-for-profit organisation, ran entirely by volunteers. Our History… The community organisation; Chorley FM began life back in 2001, when several like-minded people with an interest in both the radio industry and the local community wanted to launch a radio station like no other, a radio station dedicated to the community playing a great variety of music. After several RSL (Restricted Service License) broadcasts, lots of work and dedication Chorley FM was born, and granted its full time community broadcast licence in the summer of 2006. Chorley FM began full time live broadcast in November 2006, broadcasting news and information to the public of Chorley. Since the early days of 2006 Chorley FM has enjoyed an ever growing listener base, and has become a local leader of conveying local news and information to the community. Chorley FM believes strongly in the need to remain committed to its local output; to include local events, news and travel information all of which our research suggests local people rely upon. Chorley FM remains unique in the local area in this respect. Since our initial launch in November 2006, Chorley FM has undergone a number of changes in order to better meet the needs of our target audience; local 16-25 year old and the local LGBT community (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual and Transgender).
