stream with them and as time went on, they told a few friends and so on, and so on. Anyway, we ended up crashing the server and running of bandwidth.
So, with a new internet package and a dedicated computer for running the software, and a few bits of hardware and nice firewall, FreeRocker was started. It will probably keep going as long as there's funding and listeners.
We like the fact that we get to program the music in step with our musical tastes, and not the general public. If it happens that you like the music too...then so be it and we're glad you're listening along with us. I think this is why we get such a weird mix of music on the station. We pick out a song we like and add it to the station without regard for genre, or listener, or advertiser, or any other official group that may exist.
Anyway, we hope you like the station and if you get a chance to donate, then please do so. This thing is expensive.
