Hello I was wondering if you could make announcements for a benefit concert for my daughter, a cancer patient, Melissa Carroll, 30, from Derry, NH.. the Irish band Dervish will perform at 7:30pm Thursday March 7 at Pinkerton Academy's Stockbridge Theater. Tickets are $35 available on www.HeptunesC see more... oncerts.com, at http://www.stockbridgetheatre.com/ and at the door. I listen to your station ALL THE TIME and I would greatly appreciate it if you mentioned the concert prior to the event when you give your concert calendar news. "One of Ireland's most popular bands, Dervish, is making a stop in Derry on their March US tour to perform a benefit concert for 30 year old Derry native, Melissa Carroll, on Thursday, March 7 at Stockbridge Theatre at Pinkerton Academy. Melissa has been waging a brave battle with cancer, Ewing Sarcoma, for over two years at Mass General Hospital. Melissa studied painting at Mass College of Art and her work has been shown in Boston and New York City galleries. Before her illness, she was assistant to artist, Francesco Clemente. Melissa's dad, Paul Carroll, left Ireland in the 70's to go to Australia. He met his wife, Cecelia, raised in Medford, Mass, teaching there. They returned here and settled in Derry where they raised three children. Melissa, her sister, Amy, and brother, Patrick, all graduated from Pinkerton Academy. Paul retired from the Gillette Co. and Cecelia is a teacher at Hampstead Academy for over 20 years."
