KPTX FM has been on the air since 1981 and KIUN 1400am has been entertaining the Trans-Pecos region since 1935. Needless to say... "We're not newcomers to the area". We pride ourselves on being a true part of this community and strive to make our community a better place for ... See more everyone. KPTX FM is owned by Parday, Inc. and operates 24 hours each day. Broadcasting contemporary adult music from the 1980's, 1990's as well as current hits on 98.3 MHz with 9.5 kw of power... Serving Reeves, Ward, Winkler, Loving, Pecos Counties and surrounding area. Our coverage area is depicted in the graphic below: The inner circle is our "strongest" reception area. The outer circle represents our fringe area signal. We have many full time listeners in Ft. Stockton, and have had responses from the Crane and Imperial areas as well as Jal, New Mexico. Information on our programs and programming schedule may be viewed on our Programming Page. KIUN AM is owned and operated by Pecos Radio Company, Inc. and shares physical facilities as well as employees with KPTX FM. KIUN broadcasts country music along with live programming and local sports. Please check the KIUN Page for specific programming information. All that being said; we're not only proud of what we do in and for this community and the area, but also our employees. Bill Randall is General manager for both KPTX FM and KIUN AM With deep roots in the West Texas area, Bill comes by the "Radio Business" in an honest manner: Many long time listeners should remember Bill's father, Bill from the old KERB Radio days in Kermit. Bill is also the voice of The West Texas Hot Line Give Paula Cole a call on the telephone and you'll more than likely be greeted by the Office Manager for both stations... And, yep, Bill's better half. Paula is also one of the "Sales Force" and may be contacted for ads on SuddenLink Cable's Community Channel She is also the person to talk to about scheduling a special guest for "Pecos Talkin". KIUN's weekly public affairs program. Cody West provides "Play by Play" sports commentary Ron Cook and Ted Baremore do play by play remote broadcasts in Kermit and Wink. Johnny Terrazas does color commentary on Pecos Eagle Football broadcasts and does our Pecos Eagle Baseball broadcasts live on KIUN. Johnny is employed by TransPecos Bank in Pecos. Robin Land does our Pecos Lady Eagle Softball, Volleyball, and Basketball games live on KIUN. She also handles advertising sales for Lady Eagle Sports. She is a teacher and coach at Austin Elementary.
