flipped formats to its current incarnation in July 1987. They are one of two classic rock/hits outlets targeting the Puget Sound region, with Bellingham's KISM-FM being the other. To some classic rock is a troublesome term because it encompasses a wide range of pop, folk and what is now considered true classic rock by many under the age of 50. Elton John, The Beatles and CSNY get spins alongside the harder sounds of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, ZZ Top and AC/DC. It may please a wider audience but some may prefer a narrower definition of classic rock and playlist. KZOK-FM, as of November 11, 2010, is now Seattle's only rock station not owned by Entercom Communications after Clear Channel flipped KFNK.
