See more 4 years of groundwork, Perth FM took to the airwaves on November 5th 2008 broadcasting online worldwide as well as locally on 106.6FM. After two hugely successful 4-week trials in 2005, Ofcom advertised a licence for Perth the following year and after several month Radio Perth Ltd was awarded the licence. Now Perth FM broadcasts 24 hours a day to a potential audience of 65,000 adults in and around Perth, with listening in the city as the primary target. We play a broad mix of timeless classic hits drawn from the past 5 decades, mixed with some of the more popular hits from the current and recent charts. The appeal of this music format was first identified during the trials and market research to be the most popular. We also feature local news every hour throughout the day as well as local weather, sport, finance and traffic information. Each day a local guest will be welcomed to the studio and our 'what's on' segments highlight not-for-profit events held throughout Perthshire. With no-nonsense facilities and a small, dedicated, skilled and well-focussed staff, Perth FM is becoming a highly-valued local business.
