We don't have a budget for advertising and wondered if you could help us to get the word out by announcing our play. Alfred Almond Central School Presents, "The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood" "Have you ever wondered what would happen if Monty Python met up with Mel Brooks to tell their version see more... of Robin Hood? Well...um...poor Sherwood Forest would never be the same again." It sure is hard to be humble when you're a swashbuckling, egocentric super-hero. But our gallant guy-in-green tries his best as he swaggers through The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood, a frantically funny, Monty Pythonesque retelling of the classic. This time around, the legendary legend, in his never-ending quest to aid the needy, encounters a lovely damsel-in-distress (oddly obsessed with skin conditions); an ever-scheming sheriff who would rather bowl a strike than hit a bull's-eye; a gold-hoarding, bad-guy monarch wannabe; and a good-natured "Town's Gal" who manages to make her way into every scene, whether she belongs there or not. Combine them with an expandable band of spoon-wielding Merry Men whose collective IQs equal six, and you've got an irreverent jaunt through Sherwood Forest you won't soon forget! Showing time: March 22nd at 7 pm, March 23rd at 7pm or March 24th at 2pm at Alfred-Almond Central School Tickets: $5 per person, $15 for a family

I wanted to make you aware that Hammondsport has been chosen as one of 10 finalist (out of over 600 entries) in a contest called "America's Coolest Town" sponsored by Budget Travel magazine. Hammondsport has been in the lead for much of the voting, but for the last week has been back & forth betw see more... een 1st & 2nd place with Beaufort, NC. Presently Beaufort is ahead with 31.6%, and Hammondsport at 31.3%. People can vote once a day until the contest ends on Tuesday, Jan. 31. I was hoping that maybe you could announce this periodically during the day to have your listeners vote. The winner will be featured in the Sept/Oct. issue of the magazine, and it would be great recognition for our area, county & state! Thank you!!
