This makes for an exciting and varied ambience as there are many people living in this area of Perth from all different backgrounds, lives and careers.
Latest Broadcasting Equipment
Radio Fremantle boasts the latest broadcast equipment with two main studios, production room (can be used as a broadcasting room if required), administration office, staff room, engineering room, male and female toilets and additional space at the back of the building for potential expansion.
The station also caters for people with disabilities with a specialised lift installed. The main studio - Studio One - can easily accommodate people with wheelchairs. The main foyer has ample room to provide seating for those who may have to wait to be interviewed. There is also a cool drink and confectionery dispenser for refreshments.
Programming
The station broadcasts a variety of programs with an emphasis on local programming including local, youth and ethnic listeners. There is a varied range of specialist programs including, Jazz, Classical, Folk, Country, and West Australian music. There is also a daily 'Collage' program that takes a look at the Arts and local issues.
Radio Fremantle also provides a wide-coverage of all major sporting events - particularly on Saturday's (non-season program, Musical Memories.) On Sunday the day is dedicated to our large ethnic audience including, African, Portuguese, Brazilian and the Serbian communitiy.
Coverage Area
Radio Fremantle's coverage area is spread throughout Fremantle, Cockburn, Melville and East Fremantle. However, we receive regular calls from listeners from as far as Quinns Rock in the Northern suburbs to Mandurah in the South. From the latest Australian Bureau of Statistics figures, our potential audience exceeds 202,000. However, we have also received feedback from other locations outside of our 'target' area and that provides another 155, 000 potential listeners. A total of 358, 558.
The suburbs served by Radio Fremantle are: Alfred Cove, Bicton, East Fremantle, Hilton, Myaree, Palmyra, Spearwood, Attadale, Coolbellup, Fremantle, Kardinya, North Fremantle, Samson, White Gum Valley, Beaconsfield, Coogee, Hamilton Hill, Melville, O'Connor, South Fremantle and Willagee.
