Dave started in radio at age 12. He started bugging and calling his local radio station’s DJ’s about getting into radio. Many of them took him under their wing and he soon learned the ropes from the "Radio Greats" in his hometown of Glasgow, Kentucky. He eventually went into programming ... See more and landed a gig in Nashville. It was there that he joined two legendary Nashville stations, WLAC and WSIX. It was at WSIX that Dave met and befriended Hollywood Hendrix. Hollywood went on to become the first host of Retro Rewind In late 1997 Dave conceived the name, the idea, and concept of Retro Rewind. Together with Hollywood and their friend, voiceover legend Bumper Morgan, they launched the show nationwide in February 1998. Dave wrote and co-executive produced every installment of the syndicated show. In 1998, Dave took a leave of absence to serve as the manager of the platinum selling band "The Outfield". In 1999, Dave took over the hosting duties of Retro Rewind. Anthony Vita also joined the staff that year. Dave's a big-time music history buff and his lent some of his expertise to many entertainment outlets. He’s also contributed assistance to VH-1 for many of their popular shows, "Where Are They Now?” "Behind The Music", "Before They Were Rock Stars", and "The List". In 2005 Dave helped secure talent for NBC's mid-summer replacement show, "Hit Me Baby One More Time". Dave's hobbies include following the NFL (San Diego Chargers), video games, and songwriting. He has written well over 400 songs. Some songs are a collaboration with his best friend, actor Scott Grimes. (From NBC’s “ER”, HBO’s "Band Of Brothers", and FOX’s "Party Of Five"). In 2005 Dave scored a top 20 AC hit on the Billboard and Radio & Records chart, as co-writer of "Sunset Blvd", performed by Scott Grimes. Harris co-wrote several of the songs on Grimes' 2005 CD, "Livin’ on the Run". In 2006, the writing team of Grimes/Harris wrote the title track to the movie, “What Love Is” starring Cuba Gooding Jr.
