Maria Torres. We were always big fans of local music. We wanted to bring something back to the local music scene, and we wanted to share it with the world. What better way to do that then offer local bands free promotion, as well as streaming them live for anyone ... See more in the world to enjoy. So I started work on a small streaming server on a cheap host and an upstream server at my home. I set up a website and started streaming one of my favorite local bands with their permission, Rum & Rebellion. It was a hit. I started getting listeners, and other bands sending me their songs in hope to get some free air time. It wasn’t long before I had to upgrade to a new dedicated server that could handle multiple streams and many more listeners. Our hope is that we can continue to offer local bands free promotion, and highlight our wonderful music scene to the world. We also hope to offer great advertising opportunities to local businesses as well. As we get bigger, expect some awesome new music, the eventual split into genre based stations (Rock, Rap, Hip-Hop, Jazz, etc.) and live streaming of local events, such as coffee shop sets and local shows!
