Star 98 - WQLH - FM 98.5 - Green Bay, WI

"Star 98" or 98.5 FM, is a Hot Adult Contemporary formatted radio station licensed to Green Bay, Wisconsin and serving Green Bay, Appleton, Oshkosh, and Northeast Wisconsin. The station is owned by Clear Channel Communications and operated by its former owner, Cumulus Media. The station launched in 1967 as WDUZ-FM ... See more (a sister station to WDUZ-AM) and aired a beautiful music format until January 1990. At that time, the station shifted to a light adult contemporary format as "New Light 98.5 WQLH" (meaning "Quality Light Hits"). The format would evolve into a more modern (and more upbeat) adult contemporary playlist by the mid 1990s, eventually adopting the "Star 98" branding in 1999, the year the station was purchased by Cumulus Media. Cumulus would swap ownership of WQLH and 4 other signals in the Green Bay area to Clear Channel Communications in 2009 in exchange for 2 Clear Channel-owned stations in Ohio; however, Cumulus continues to operate the Green Bay stations through a lease management agreement.
