I had just completed my tour of duty in the Air Force at the radar station in Oceola, Wisconsin when I saw the add in a Twin Cities newspaper for an opening at KDHL (D for Dahl, H for Hyde and 60 years later can't remember who L was, the 3 owners of the station).) I had my 1st Class Radio Telephone
License and had attended American Institute of the Air on the GI Bill in Minneapolis in 1950 when recalled to active duty for the Korean War. I started in September 1952 until January 1953. I was the nighttime announcer-engineer out at the transmitter. Most of the music that I had to play was Old Time music like Polkas German type songs by the Six Fat Dutchmen and others. Once a week there was a remote from wherever the Faribault High School team was playing. I had to go out to each of the four antenna towers to take rearings, There was also a small weather station to take temperature
