Towerblockradio.com was founded in June 2009 by two pirate radio DJs from Manchester, UK. The site was established for people to share their own personal experiences and memories of pirate radio from all areas the UK - and to help keep those memorys alive. Then, due to many requests from ... See more site members, we were asked if we could introduce live show 'specials'. After multiple raids by the D.T.I. (now OFCOM) on various stations we have worked for, and due to demand and the success of these 'live specials', we reluctantly decided that it was time to move with the times and join the internet radio revolution. In Sept 2009 we invited other DJ's to join us at the Tower's. Some of these DJ's are ex-pirate radio DJ's and others are new to broadcasting, thus continuing the tradition of pirate radio, giving people a chance to learn new skills and introduce listeners to thier own personal record collections. Something that only pirate radio could really do, and which was one of the direct draws to this kind of broadcasting from the very early days of UK pirate's. The website then developed into what we have today - the UK's first pirate radio 'fan' site and radio station all in one place - rather than a website that represents just one individual station or memories of pirate radio in general. We are more than just a website, and more than just a radio station. So now, from Monday to Saturday night's, live DJs are in the Tower's various studio's, playing the best in underground music. All other times are covered by our 24/7 on site player. Sunday show's are set to be added to the schedule very soon. Our team of DJ's are not just from Manchester, we have DJ's located & broadcasting from a far a field as Leicester, and we operate from 4 studios. All show times are G.M.T. (UK time) and are listed, along with the DJ's name, on the right of the homepage, above the site player, on the day of a show. If you would like to see the DJ's and show times for the week ahead, click on the icon 'Show Schedule'. When 'Auto Pilot' is showing, this means there will be Back2Back music on the player. All show times are subject to change, and any changes will be updated accordingly in the show schedule. Although this medium of broadcasting lacks the true pirate element, you can be sure that the styles and flavours which are broadcast by our live DJs, or via our 24/7 streaming radio feed are 100% pirate in nature. Whether your thing is RnB, Reggae, DnB, Hip Hop, Soul, Jungle, Dubstep, Old Skool or New Skool, you can be sure that we have something for all musical tastes. We also stream via Facebook, iTunes Radio, Music Box, Widget Server and the Streema Network. You can also hear our broadcasts via iPhones, Nokia Phones, Android Phones, Blackberry's and infact any 'Smart Phones'.
