Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department was founded in 1952 out of the need for fire protection for the three greater communities of Apison, Collegedale, and Ooltewah. The Department and these communities have grown quite substantially since then and Collegedale became a City in 1968 and is where TCVFD is headquarted.
