Mr. Shaw, a 23-year-veteran of the station, was experienced as a staff announcer, sales manager, and production coordinator and was currently serving as General Manager. Mrs. Shaw added to the acquisition her ten (10) years plus of broadcasting and managerial experience. WBOL, under the ownership of Johnny and Opal Shaw, began broadcasting urban gospel music, home town news, talk radio, local pastors and ministers, and southern gospel music. It was the success of WBOL - AM that brought the Shaw's to the notion of an FM affiliate station which is now WOJG – FM In June of 1992 WOJG - FM made its broadcast debut with its current programming of urban gospel, local regional and national news, weather, local and national public service announcements, talk on community issues and ministry broadcasts.
