WSCA 106.1 FM Portsmouth broadcasts diverse and alternative programming which is primarily produced locally and reflects the cultural, educational, artistic, civic, and business fabric of the listening community. History: The Portsmouth Community Radio project was initiated in June 2000 when signs were posted around Portsmouth announcing a meeting to discuss applying for a Low Power FM license. WSCA 106.1 FM Portsmouth went on the air on September 12, 2004, and has since been broadcasting a diverse and eclectic mix of music, public affairs, arts, and cultural programming 24/7/365. Mission: The mission of WSCA 106.1 FM Portsmouth (aka Portsmouth Community Radio) is to operate a nonprofit, listener supported, volunteer driven, non-commercial FM community radio station dedicated to serving the greater Portsmouth community.
