99.5 WUSR Scranton is the radio station of The University of Scranton. WUSR is a commercial free station and offers five main genres: Alternative, Loud Rock, Urban/Hip-Hop, Talk Radio and Sports Talk Radio. WUSR Scranton has expanded its station policy to include music from the 90s and early to miRadiod 2000s along with many up-and-coming artists. The station now will work closely with several local venues and businesses and will offer promotional items from each throughout the year. There will be several WUSR sponsored events and concerts around campus and possible on-air interviews with band members. WUSR is broadcast live on 99.5 FM or on the Royal Television Network (RTN) in the University of Scranton dorms. Our website also offers several ways to listine online on our homepage. In keeping with the university's mission as the voice of the University of Scranton, the station produces public affairs programming and provides the community with an alternative to commercial radio. Students are encouraged to become involved with all aspects of the station, from on-air positions to management. The station broadcasts at 300 watts with a coverage area of 700 square miles, covering the Scranton-Wilkes-Barre metropolitan area, with an audience of over 250,000.
