shmu (pronounced shmoo) is a dynamic Community Media Unit that supports residents in the seven regeneration areas of Aberdeen in radio and video production, traditional and on-line publications, music production and digital access. The organisation also has a employability and training arm. As a community-managed, needs-led organisation, shmu 's mission is to support its communities to reclaim the media. shmu's activities include: shmuFM broadcasts a variety of issue-based, music and community programming on 99.8FM. shmuFM offers training and support to volunteers so they produce and present their own radio shows.
