See more Broadcasting Corporation) Television provides a complete 24-hour network schedule of news, sports, entertainment and children's programming. The station's studios are located in the CBC Ottawa Broadcast Centre. As the third television station in Canada, CBOT began broadcasting on June 2, 1953. CBOT aired both English language and French language programs until the launch of Télévision de Radio-Canada station CBOFT in Otttawa. From late 1970s to the early 1980s, CBOT was branded as "CBC 4 Ottawa", and its newscasts were known as "CBC 4 News". In the mid-1980s the station changed names to "CBOT 4", and then to "CBC Ottawa".
