CBOT aired both English language and French language programs until the launch of Télévision de Radio-Canada station CBOFT in Otttawa. From late 1970s to the early 1980s, CBOT was branded as "CBC 4 Ottawa", and its newscasts were known as "CBC 4 News". In the mid-1980s the station changed names to "CBOT 4", and then to "CBC Ottawa".
