WNCT-TV is a full service television station in Greenville, North Carolina , broadcasting on local digital (UHF or VHF) channel 10 and on virtual channel 9. Founded in 1953, it is owned by Media General. WNCT is affiliated with CBS, airing CBS's primetime shows in the evening. In the morning,
the station airs CBS's morning news and information program, with spots for local news and weather; in the afternoon, it airs CBS's soap operas; in the early evening, it shows CBS's national news broadcast and local newscasts. After primetime, it airs its own local newscasts, followed by CBS's late-night programming. WNCT also airs local sports broadcasts. WNCT's channel is multiplexed, with two subchannels. Channel 9.1 airs WNCT and CBS; 9.2 shows Eastern North Carolina CW. WNCT was previously affiliated with DuMont from 1953 until 1955 and ABC, as a secondary affiliate, from 1953 until 1962, when it became a CBS affiliate.
