KLBK-TV is a full service television station in Lubbock, Texas, broadcasting on local digital UHF channel 40 and on virtual channel 40. Founded in 1952 ... See more as KDUB-TV, it is owned by Nexstar Broadcasting Group, Inc. KLBK is affiliated with CBS, airing CBS's primetime shows in the evening. In the morning, the station airs CBS's morning news and information program, with spots for local news and weather; in the afternoon, it airs CBS's soap operas; in the early evening, it shows CBS's national news broadcast and (mention local newscasts). After primetime, it airs its own local newscasts, followed by CBS's late-night programming. KLBK also airs local sports broadcasts. KLBK-TV has always been a CBS affiliate, and carried secondary affiliations with DuMont from 1952 until 1955 and ABC from the mid-1950s until 1969. The station used the call sign KDUB-TV from 1953 until 1961, as a station founded by television pioneer W.D. "Dub" Rogers for the West Texas Television Network, the first regional television network in the United States.
