KPXG-TV is a full service television station in Salem, Oregon, broadcasting on local digital UHF channel 22. Founded in 1981 as KECH, it is owned by Ion Media Networks, Inc. KPXG-TV's channel has three subchannels, all with ION programming. On 22.1 is ION's basic programming; On 22.2 is qubo, ION's children's television specialty channel, broadcasting in English and Spanish, and on 22.3 is ION Life, airing lifestyle programming during the day, and movies in the evening. KPXG was an independent station from 1981 until 1987, affiliated with FNN from 1982 until 1985, Home Shopping Network from 1987 until 1998, Pax TV from 1998 until 2005, and i Network from 2005 until 2007, Pax, i and Ion being the same company. The station used the call signs KECH from 1981 until 1986, KWVT from 1986 until 1987, KHSP from 1987 until 1988, and KBSP-TV from 1988 until 1998.
