KUSM-TV is a full service television station in Bozeman, Montana, broadcasting on local digital VHF channel 8 and virtual channel 9. Founded in 1984, it is a member station of Montana PBS. It is a multiplexed channel with its PBS and local productions on channel 9.1, PBS Kids on 9.2,
, Create on 9.3, PBS World on 9.4 and the TVMT simulcast on 9.5. The University of Montana journalism and radio/television departments and the documentary filmmaking at Montana State University contribute programs by staff and students such as "Backroads of Montana," "11th and Grant," and "Montana Ag Live." MontanaPBS reaches over 150 communities in Montana. KUSM signed on for the first time on October 1, 1984, making Montana the last state to have its own PBS station. Prior to 1984, Montana received PBS programming from KSPS-TV in Spokane; Prairie Public Television in North Dakota; KRMA-TV in Denver; and KUED.
