KAUZ-TV is afull service television station in Wichita Falls, Texas , broadcasting on local digital UHF channel 22 and on virtual channel 6 to the Wichita Falls, Texas and Lawton, Oklahoma area. Founded in 1953 as KWFT-TV, it is owned by Hoak Media Corporation. KAUZ-TV is affiliated with CBS, airing
CBS's primetime shows in the evening. In the morning, the station airs CBS's morning news and information program, with spots for local news and weather; in the afternoon, it airs CBS's soap operas; in the early evening, it shows CBS's national news broadcast and local newscasts. After primetime, it airs its own local newscasts, followed by CBS's late-night programming. KAUZ-TV also airs local sports broadcasts. KAUZ's channel is multiplexed, with two subchannels. Channel 6.1 airs KAUZ and CBS programs; 6.2 shows The CW Texoma. The station used the call signs KWFT-TV from 1953 until 1956 and KSYD-TV from 1956 until 1963.
