Antonio, which began as KCOR-TV in 1955, the first full-time Spanish-language station in America and the first UHF station in the country. Univision operates its own television production company called Univision Studios, which produces original content for the network and national news programming. Univision also includes programming from Mexican broadcast network Televisa and Venezuelan broadcast network Venevision. KUVS has the only locally produced Spanish language newscast that airs 7 days a week with an Emmy award-winning news team. The station’s ‘Sabor Latino’ and ‘Voz y Voto’ are locally produced programs that inform Sacramento area Hispanics about community issues and public affairs, such as voter registration, immigration information, health and human services and education attainment and advocacy.
