WTLW was literally built by the community, having started as a grass-roots effort to bring a Christian oriented television station to the Lima, Ohio area by a local radio station, then being picked up by the American Christian Television Services, a board created to insure the station started broadcasting. The station was founded in a local vacant aircraft hanger, along side a makeshift Christian coffee shop, and it is still broadcasting from the same location.
