KPTQ 1280 probably has sold there soul to the right wingnuts. Can't have liberal radio pointing out all the 'dirty tricks' they have in store for election day! Reminds me of another liberal talk show host (on KXLY I think) that was fired, in part, because of 'complaints' from right wing listeners! see more... ? Why didnt they just tune in when the local right wing host was on!

It's difficult to imagine that the influence & resources of Cathy McMorris Rodgers was not involved in this decision just as she installed our new mayor David Condon. The loss of KPTQ is significant and the important topics raised by Thom Hartman , Randi Rhodes, and Ed Schultz were a great counter see more... balance to the GOP company line. No dissention means it will be more difficult to affect ideas relating to the real problems that affect the middle class. Remember, this was a Congressional Dist that elected Tom Foley in 1964 who became Speaker of the House and was voted out by the powerful forces of the Cowles family and the right wing pressure groups to empower the 2% to enrich themselves even more while we here in the general admission section of the population continue to exist on a pay schedules that barely keeps up with inflation. We should be out advocating for the Post Office workers who are now being forced to cut back because of Republicans who voted to require the U.S. Postal Service to fund their pension funds 75 years in advance (those workers haven't even been born yet!) all because the GOP is getting funding from UPS, Fed Ex and DHL!! Only in America can the upper 2% rule the lives of those whose pay since the 1970's hasn't kept up with inflation @ only 34%, while corporate America has seen their compensation increase by 275%!! How is this fair? Thanks for nothing KPTQ! Hope you guys @ 1280 FAIL miserably with country - (like we don't have enough music stations AND this is AM??)

Spokane will never forgive you 1280 KPTQ. What was the price of the format change? That Romney money seems big now, but in the long term, it will never be enough. Us Spokanites deserve at least one dissenting voice (to the gobs of Hannity, Limbaugh, etc) on the AM dial. I find it hard to believe thi see more... s was merely a financial decision with the local population being over 670,000, and with your station providing the only progressive talk. Don't worry, someone else will come along and reap the advertizing dollars that your failed management left behind.
