KTRM is supervised by the Division of Language and Literature, headed by Dr. Heinz Woehlk. KTRM's faculty advisor is Dr. Mark Smith. KTRM is operated at the level of an on-air, non-commercial facility, and all staff members are expected to behave professionally. KTRM is an excellent beginning for students interested in furthering a broadcast career. All staff members have the opportunity to learn many real-world skills in addition to gaining experience in broadcasting. KTRM is located on the first floor of Barnett Hall in BT 1217. It currently broadcasts over 88.7 FM. KTRM's audience consists of both the university community and the greater Kirksville community. KTRM provides a forum for widely diverse forms of programming elsewhere in Kirksville. The weekly format is College Rock/Alternative (termed by the FCC as Alternative Rock). KTRM features late night specialty shows that focus on music including metal, punk, dance, blues, hip hop, etc. Regular news and sports broadcasts cover world and national news while emphasizing campus news. In addition, campus sporting events are broadcast live when possible. Free public service announcements (PSAs) are available on KTRM for any chartered campus organization. KTRM also obtains underwriting to support both format and specialty shows.
