Sports WKDE-FM is the flagship station of the Lynchburg Hillcats, a Class High-A minor league baseball team and an affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. The team is located in Lynchburg. WKDE-FM is also the flagship station of the Altavista Colonels high school football and basketball teams. Virginia Association of Broadcasters award-winning sportscaster Bob Alvis calls the play-by-play for most of the high school games, assisted often by co-hosts Kyle Hoehne and Oscar Briggs. The VAB Award-Winning team of Dave Hoehne and Mark Slusher also call games.
