the "drumbeat" for the community.
The station relocated in April 1993 to its present location at 1018 Pecan Park Circle in Jackson, Mississippi, across the street from Westland Plaza. WMPR has remained committed to providing spiritual nourishment to the community in the form of talk shows, news, gospel music, blues, world music, and maintaining a presence and voice in the community.
WMPR has served as a fertile training ground for the many volunteer DJ’s that have capably served the station over the past 19 years. The advent of a website with audio streaming serves as a true milestone for the station, as it continues to pursue its mission of providing music, news, information, and a presence in the community at large.
WMPR serves a broad listening area from its base in Jackson, Mississippi. It attracts and maintains listeners in a 100 mile radius, extending as far as Monroe, Louisiana to the West; Grenada, Mississippi to the North; Meridian, Mississippi to the East; and Hammond, Louisiana to the South.
