We were on the air four hours a day back then with local public affairs and music programming. Today we broadcast 24 hours a day, seven days a week with 37,000 watts of power and we reach nine counties in Southwest Ohio with a potential audience of more than one million. WYSO also broadcasts in HD, and we stream our programming live on our website: wyso.org. Many of our programs are also available as podcasts. WYSO is the Miami Valley's only NPR News station, and we carry their flagship programs, including Morning Edition and All Things Considered. Our own news department delivers local and state news plus public affairs programming and news specials. We have twelve different local music programs. Most of them are hosted by knowledgeable and dedicated volunteers. Today WYSO is licensed to Antioch University and our studios are in Yellow Springs, Ohio. We have eight full time and two part-time staff members. More than twenty people volunteer weekly. We are supported in large part by our nearly four thousand members and a distinguished roster of underwriters from from all over the Miami Valley. We also receive funds from The Corporation for Public Broadcasting and eTech Ohio. In addition to NPR, we carry programming from Public Radio International, American Public Media and PRX. Our overnight programming comes from the BBC (British Broadcasting Service), and we air the work of independent radio producers as well.
