weather, and sports station. In 1961 KMRS which had formally been only a daytime station became a full time station. KMRS covers local news with a full time news director and is affiliated with ABC, MN News Network and the Linder Farm Network. At one time KMRS broadcast 24 hours. Currently both KMRS and KKOK broadcast 18 ½ hours each and every day.
KKOK FM 95.7 went on the air on September 16, 1976 has had a few format changes throughout the years and is currently "New Hit Country." KKOK FM is a 100,000 watt station with coverage of over a 100 mile radius.
The Hedberg family sold KMRS 1230 AM and KKOK FM 95.7 to MidStates Development/Varistar Corporation in 1994.
In December of 1998 MidStates/Varistar Corporation sold KMRS/KKOK Radio to Ingstad Broadcasting.
The addition of the radio station KRVY "The River" 97.3 began broadcasting in 2001.
We are the home of MN Twins and have hosted many Twins caravans throughout the years.
