Collins, Colorado. The organization was founded by four high school sophomores attending Poudre High School.
Originally envisioned as an FM radio station, prior to starting an Internet radio station, the organization's board of directors extensively pursued an FM radio license. FCYB applied for a construction permit to build a small FM radio station in Red Feather Lakes, Colorado, with the ultimate goal of then purchasing a translator station to broadcast to Fort Collins. Another party applied to operate an FM station in Red Feather, and the board of directors was offered $3,500 to surrender its application. They accepted the offer, which funded KLIK Radio's first 6 months of operating expenses.
Over the course of its existance, KLIK has worked with over 100 different students from 5 different high schools in the region, including Loveland schools. It has received recognition from both the Coloradoan and the Fort Collins Now. Equipment purchases are funded primarily by grants from local private foundations and national youth grants.
