See more apart from other event producers in its market. The accumulation of valuable resources has led the company outside its niche into the contract and corporate realm of event production. Since its inception, Paxahau has been recognized as promoter of the year by Urb Magazine and Real Detroit Weekly, featured in many media outlets and has run a 24 hour web station on the wildly used iTunes network. Paxahau also produced a stage at CityFest, the rooftop fireworks party at Asian Village and the grand opening of the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit. Prior to earning the rights to produce Detroit’s electronic music festival in 2006, Paxahau was an all-volunteer organization with a long history of promoting Detroit and electronic music, both through the web and special events. Paxahau.com and demf.com are now two of the most visited DJ listening websites on the internet. Carrying a consistent level of quality symbiotically through all of its projects has proven a challenging task, but nine years later the company and its reputation is one of the strongest in the industry. Today, Paxahau produces and average of 15 events per year in the Metro Detroit area, owns and operates an electronic music record label, artist booking agency, merchandise outlet, and has recently inspired the Detroit Techno Foundation, a non-profit group in formation to develop and promote Detroit’s electronic music and creative communities. 2008 was Paxahau’s third year of successfully producing Detroit’s Electronic Music Festival. In those two years, the company has carried on the tradition of bringing a world class festival to Detroit while stabilizing the event and dissolving all doubt surrounding its previous incarnations. As a result, relationships both within the industry and the city are stronger than ever. This vision for Detroit and its future growth has lead to Paxahau’s involvement with various projects and think tanks dedicated to exposing the rest of the world to the wealth of our region.
