My Teacher is a racist. The Herald won’t publish the article I wanted to submit (liable issues), lets try this one. Several years a ago I took a Contemporary Moral Issues class at a nearby college. The professor lead the class often in open dialog. Class participation was e see more... ncouraged. One day said professor made a comment that Norwegians are morons. Some of the students laughed at this. I did not. Dr. X immediately apologized through it’s self-righteous intellectually superior smirk. Your average ten year old could have seen right through Dr. X’s lack of sincerity. I have little doubt X was sorry. Sorry only that it was said in front of us. After class that day and after the rest of the students left I confront DR. X. I got in X’s arrogant face and told X with my toughest face that I was a Norwegian. X said sorry. I knew X would. I just wanted to make X do it. I thought about this incident over the next few days. It was past my option of dropping X’s class. I didn’t want to go over X’s head and tell the X’s boss. In retrospect I should have gone to X’s boss. I forgave X, went back to class and sat there worried I would never get a fair grade. Since then professor X has seen fit to make public accusations of racism several times over the years. X’s likes to get in the news and point racist fingers. X’s makes comments about anger over three 14 year olds boys donning KKK hoods. Claiming we are all angry over this. X uses we instead of I. X is not we. X dose not speak for me. How about You? What X did in Class is by far worse then what these young teenagers did. X did it from a place of authority. X claims intellectual and moral superiority. X needs to clean his own house. "Why We should never ever listen to X" I do not believe these three KKK kids are hate filled white supremacist for a second. However, if they are my response is not anger or fear but, sympathy. I feel sorry for kids starting life with so much hate. It would be an empty sad existence that is so evidently wrong. Teaching love is everyone’s job. Hate will always brings consequences. Learning from them is optional. Feeling sympathy for X is harder for me. If X was to keep quiet it would be easier to forgive again. That is not likely to happen. X will never face public discipline. There is a chance that X can change himself. Frankly, I believe X stands a far less chance of accomplishing this than that of the three KKK boys. Whom I believe will come out the better.
