KPXM-TV's channel has three subchannels, all with ION programming. On 41.1 is ION's basic programming; On 41.2 is qubo, ION's children's television specialty channel, broadcasting in English and Spanish, and on 41.3 is ION Life, airing lifestyle programming during the day, and movies in the evening. The station was an independent from 1982 until 1992 and again from 1994 until 1996; it became affiliated with Home Shopping Network from 1992 until 1994, inTV, Pax TV and i from 1997 until 2007, when they became Ion Television. KPXM was known as KLXI from 1981 until 1997.
