It is an affiliate of ION, featuring a broad mix of popular television series, theatrical and made-for-television movies, specials and sports. WNPX's channel has three subchannels, all with ION programming. On 36.1 is ION's basic programming; On 36.2 is qubo, ION's children's television specialty channel, broadcasting in English and Spanish, and on 36.3 is ION Life, airing lifestyle programming during the day, and movies in the evening. WNPX was an independent station from 1989 until 1995, when it became an affiliate of The WB until 1998, changing at that time to PAX TV and i, which became Ion Television. The station previously used the call signs WSJA from 1986 until 1988, WMTT from 1988 until 1993, WKZZ from 1993 until 1998.
