Any radio station that allows a DJ to objectify must have an extremely immature male audience. Tonight, Monday, December 12 at 8:40, I heard a DJ talk about a wealthy model. After announcing that she's married to some famous (or not so famous) athlete, this DJ went on to give the model's measurements. Clearly speaking to "guys,' he then went on to say that she was an advocat of breat feeding. And that he wanted to sign on or something to that effedt. There are three sad commentaries here. The first is that the DJ is so adolescent or thinks his audiience is that he has to talk about a woman in such terms. The second is that the model might not object to such objectification as much as I do (that's speculation, not a given), but it takes a lot of publicity to be a wealthy model. The third is that the radio station KOOL FM allows such objectivication of women to continue to be broadcast. Sure men talk about women in such terms, but do we all have to hear it joked about on the airwaves?
I'm one completely, utterly, absolutely disgusted former listener.
