WFWM operates at an assigned frequency of 91.9 MHz, with studios located in the Stangle Building on the campus of Frostburg State University. It also operates a translator station, W242AD (96.3 MHz), in Oakland, Maryland. Main transmission facilities are located on Dan's Mountain in Midland, Maryland. WFWM also maintains and assists XFSR, the FSU student intranet radio station.
Programming on WFWM includes locally-originated and acquired news and features from National Public Radio (NPR), the Associated Press, and National Weather Service. WFWM's formats include Classical, Jazz, Big Band, Blues, Celtic, Bluegrass, and Alternative.
WFWM operates under the auspices of the FSU Division of Communications and Media Relations.
