WFRZ was founded by Jerry Kemp, a Frazer Memorial member, who started the Frazer TV Ministry in 1983 and bought the relay transmitter W14BV in 1993 when the television station began operations, changing the relay transmitter to W61DH in 2000, until the station received the call sign WFRZ in 2003. In addition to broadcasting the Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church worship services, WFRZ also broadcasts worship services from several other local churches in the Montgomery area. WFRZ also produces a number of programs weekly in their studios, and televise other locally produced programs on a selective basis. Additionally, WFRZ-TV televises programs from three religious networks, Cornerstone, MyFamilyTV, and INSP. Its previous affliations had included Family Net, from Daystar, but the station dropped the Family Net affiliation when Daystar announced they would start charging a fee for using their programming.
