WAMU used to be much better. The station used to have much more diversity in programming. And until a couple of years ago, the station aired 10 hours a week of dedicated local programming. It's now down to 1 hour a week, and that is the only hour in the entire line-up where listeners can call in live. More diverse voices are needed, too.

In these times of Media overload on television and radio, the brightest light in my opinion is NPR and WAMU. Always informative, always interesting subjects, and very creative ideas in producing radio programs. I am a monthly supporter and encourage anyone who reads this to send a contribution to help support public radio. It really is for the public without a corporate view of the world.
