Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina area. Founded in 1991 as WFXB, it owned by Ion Media Networks, Inc.. It is an affiliate of ION, featuring a broad mix of popular television series, theatrical and made-for-television movies, specials and sports. WRPX-TV's channel has three subchannels, all with ION programming. On 47.1 is ION's basic programming; On 47.2 is qubo, ION's children's television specialty channel, broadcasting in English and Spanish, and on 47.3 is ION Life, airing lifestyle programming during the day, and movies in the evening. The station was independent from 1992 until 1998, then affiliated with Pax TV and i, which became ION Television. WRPX has used the call signs WFXB in 1991, then changed to WRMY the same year, becoming WRPX in 1998.
